It’s a big weekend here in the South, as it is all over the States.
It’s time to celebrate Patriotic dreams and freedoms…it’s the Fourth of July! I get all sorts of giddy this time of year, not only because it’s time to celebrate the Red, White, and Blue, but also because it’s the anniversary of the day that I said “I do” to my Lusty Woodsman. It’s as if the whole nation celebrates with us (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it).
Picnics, parades, fireworks and family…the best parts of the whole day are spent this way. It’s so much fun to arrive at the party that just oozes with the colors of the flag and decorations that were meant to be played with. In my travels through…yes, you guessed it…the Land of Internets, I came across many a kingdom that had wondrous ideas for celebrating.
My first stop was to the Kingdom of A Field Journal.
Miss Olivia had a most festive time last year! I can’t wait to see what fun she will have this weekend, and which dress she will choose to wear to their annual soirée. Last year’s model was such an adorable one, yes?
I enjoyed my stay at her cozy little site and came up with some fantastic ideas. But my journey didn’t end there, mes amis. I traveled a bit further and found many more creative lands that held so many whimsical decorations and festivities.
The Kingdom of Twig and Thistle had charming little decorations.
From matchbox covers to straw tags, there were many clever printables to help make your Fourth of July a bit more unique. Isn’t this the cutest idea for bundling sparklers? I do so love it…now to find my card stock and get the printer warmed up. Perhaps I should have planned ahead?
My travels were beginning to get exciting.
There were kingdoms with bunting, with tasty treats, with fun things to do with the kiddos, and my favorite kindgom of the journey…the Kingdom of Between Naps on the Porch. Aside from the fact that the name alone is awesome (who wouldn’t love to spend their days taking naps on the front porch swing?!), her tablescapes are just to die for. I’ve packed my suitcase, now I must find the most direct route to Susan’s house before Monday….
Did you see the jars?! Simply lovely, I tell you. I can’t wait to pool all the ideas together that I’ve found and celebrate my anniversary…15 years, mes amis. I remember the mountain views just as the sun was beginning to wake up on that 4th of July morning. A glorious red sky and the Key Hole in site, bulls-eyes marking the trail towards the Narrows. Le sigh, it seems like just last week that we climbed Longs Peak. We were so exhausted from the 12 hour round trip climb, we missed the fireworks that night. But I digress…it’s time to get out the red, white and blue card stock and make some pinwheels! Cheers!
